Would you like to know more about your child’s education?
What are the priorities at your school? What are the school’s initiatives and activities for educational improvement, and how are these being addressed by Palmer Ridge High School, as well as within School District 38? How is PRHS helping develop the ‘whole child’?  How does PRHS involve the students and staff in our local community? Do you have questions about the school budget or school policies? Do you want to be involved in the education of our community’s high school age children?

W hat is the Palmer Ridge Advisory Council (PRAC)?
Each school year, as required by state law, a group of parents, community representatives, the PRHS principal and teaching staff representatives form the PRHS Advisory Council (PRAC). The PRAC provides parents, the community, teaching staff and school administration a forum to monitor and discuss education at PRHS, share ideas, review policies and provide advice to school administration. A partial list of topics discussed includes: PRHS student and school performance, the PRHS school improvement plan, school initiatives, the school calendar, the educational environment at PRHS, policies, parent involvement, school safety and the PRHS budget. Notably, PRAC is an advisory group, not a policy-making committee. Its goal is to provide a forum for continual collaboration in order to monitor, enhance and improve the quality of education for our Palmer Ridge High School students.

PRAC meets the last Monday of each month from 6:00 to 7:30. Meeting schedules, times and other important information will be posted on this web page.

Parent Advisory Council Meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. in Room A1212 on the dates below.  Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend.
